Public Gardens have a unique opportunity to touch the lives of young people in their communities through paid job training programs. While traditional internships offer training on an individual level, some job readiness programs offer the experience of learning while working alongside the public garden employees as part of a team, and can provide both job and life skills training. How do you keep your staff and the training group happy? How do you make sure that the expectations of the staff and gardens are being met? Learn how to balance the needs of both staff and trainees, from expectations, planning, understanding, completing tasks, and building new skills.
