Learn how Canada’s largest combined retail and nursery operation has introduced innovative water conservation practices and successfully reduced its reliance on pesticides and herbicides.

Sheridan Nurseries is one of Canada’s oldest and largest nurseries. They were winners of the prestigious International Association of Horticultural Producers’ International Grower of the Year Award in 2012 and 2013. The tour will be to their 900-acre growing operation located in Halton Region just north west of Toronto. Here they produce over 1.8 million container plants and 350,000 field liners annually. Innovative growing practices with the environment in mind are key to the nurseries’ success. One of the tour highlights will be their large capacity integrated water recycling system - the first of its kind in Canada and winner of the Premiers Award for Agri-food Innovation.

Attendees on this tour should wear walking shoes and avoid sandals and/or high heels.
